2 March 2016: All Bar One was destroyed in a fire. As I'm writing this, I'm shocked - it does not feel like over 5 months ago that this happened!

At the time, it was a devastating blow to the Norwich night life. Five months on, and All Bar One has undergone an incredible transformation, rumoured to have cost over £1m!!

Lucky enough to grab a VIP invitation, my work colleagues and I decided to pop along on the night of the relaunch, and see what all the fuss was about. It coincided nicely with the start of a new work colleague, so what better excuse?

Confession time, I had never been into All Bar One before it burned down; I'd walked past on so many occasions, but never had I been in, and so I had no idea what to expect.

I have to say, I was completely blown away. I am a big lover of lighting, and the lighting in the new All Bar One was just incredible. As soon as we walked in, the bar feel so high end, but also welcoming at the same time, which for me is the perfect combination.

Once we'd arrived we were greeted by the general manager and the assistant manager, who were very kindly providing a complimentary glass of prosecco and a drinks token to try one of two cocktails in the specifically tailored cocktail masterclass area.

Offerings from the new food menu were floating around for guests to try - I didn't manage to get any photographs of the food, so you'll just have to trust me when I say that the food was also amazing. I tried the Calamari and the Spinach and Feta Bourek, and am now dying to pop in for dinner. Definitely think I'll be going on a Tuesday, as they're running a promotion called "Tuesday Tapas" where you can pick up 4 plates of tapas and a bottle of wine for just £20! When you consider that 3 plates of tapas are £15 ordinarily, this is a huge bargain!

Once we'd drank the prosecco, we indulged in a cocktail. I opted for a Disaronno Sour, which is not my usual cocktail, but one I would 100% consider ordering again as it was divine. Cocktails were being made by Sam and Grant, who were talking through how the cocktails are made, and offered the chance to shake(?) your own cocktail - you can tell my cocktail knowledge is pitiful! All Bar One will be hosting Cocktail Masterclasses at the new bar, which is only £20 per person, so I imagine this was just a little taster of what you could expect if you booked a Masterclass.

Unfortunately we had to cut the night short as various colleagues needed to get home, but I felt like we really got a good feel for the bar whilst we were there. The atmosphere was so lively, and I know it was a bar re-opening, so of course it was going to be lively, but I definitely felt like All Bar One had managed to get the balance perfect.

I can safely say that the refurbishment and relaunch of All Bar One has been an enormous success, and I know it's definitely somewhere I'll personally be visiting in the future. With my birthday just around the corner, it seems like the perfect excuse!

Have you made plans to go to All Bar One yet?
